Dance Class Fees


Regular Monthly Tuition: Payment for the first month's tuition and one-time annual enrollment fee per student are due on-line upon registration. Credit will not be issued. Tuition is not refundable or adjusted for absences. These rates do not apply to competitive dance team members. Refer to contract for team rates.

Summer Fees

One Week Summer Dance Camps $190.00 or One Week Summer Workshops $470.00
Instructors are subject to change without notice. There is no provision for credit to be issued. Tuition is non-refundable, transferable or prorated. Minimum enrollment must be reached for each camp to run.

A $25.00 fee will be charged for all declined credit cards

 


 

Studio's Dress Code

The Next Step offers an online store to assist you in purchasing all required shoes and uniforms needed for your dance class/es. For your convenience, shoe sizing sets are available in our office. The online store is quick and very easy to use. All items will be sent directly to your home. Please click on the "Store" icon above and "start shopping" to purchase your dancer's required class shoes and uniform, plus see a suggested list of dance apparel.

Pre-Ballet and Ballet: Pink ballet slippers (with elastic sewn in), pink tights and class uniform are required through our online store. Hair in a bun.

Princess & Kindergarten Pre-Dance: Pink ballet slippers (with elastic sewn in), pink tights and class uniform are required through our online store. Beige tap shoes are required for combo classes. 

Jazz: Beige jazz shoes are required through our online store.  Uniforms are also required for those classes listed. Jazz shorts/pants or leggings and a tank top, sports bra or fitted top are suggested for all other jazz classes. Please visit our online store and select items from our suggested list of dance apparel.

Hip-Hop: Tennis shoes are required. Uniforms are required for those classes listed.   Jazz shorts/pants or leggings and a tank top, sports bra or fitted top are suggested for all other hip-hop classes. Please visit our online store and select items from our suggested list of dance apparel.

Lyrical-Contemporary:  Uniforms are also required for those classes listed. Leggings and a tank top, sports bra or fitted top are suggested. Please visit our online store and select items from our suggested list of dance apparel.

Tap: Beige Tap shoes are required through our online store. Uniforms are required for those classes listed. Jazz shorts/pants or leggings and a tank top, sports bra or fitted top. Pleae visit our online store and select items from our suggested list of dance apparel. No street clothes please.

Next Step Dance Studio Policies

REGISTER BY ACH OR CREDIT CARD

Please visit our website at www.nextstepdance.com to register on-line for classes. If you do not have online access, please visit us at 109-A Town and Country Drive, Danville or call us at (925) 831-0777.

FALL/WINTER/SPRING CLASSES:

Classes are held each week throughout the season September through May (except during Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring breaks).   You are not purchasing a class at a time, but a reserved place in the class for the entire season. 

Due to the popularity of our classes, we encourage you to register early. Please contact the office at (925) 831-0777 if you need any help with registration. Our office staff is always happy to assist you.  Note that minimum enrollment must be reached for each class in order for the class to run.

Tuition/Registration Fees:

  • Each student must pay an annual registration/insurance fee.
  • Tuition rates can be found on our website here.
  • Tuition is non-refundable and no credit can be extended for missed classes.
  • Tuition is not pro-rated based on the number of classes in a given month.
  • Payment must be received to hold your spot in the class.
  • See our Financial Policies for automatic tuition payment dates and late fees.

Dropping a Class:

  • A student who wishes to drop must do so in writing by contacting our studio office no later than the 15th of the month to prevent an automatic tuition charge for the following month.
  • See our Financial Policies for our full drop policy.
  • NOTE: You must receive a confirmation email from The Next Step Dance in order for the drop to become effective. If you do not receive an email from The Next Step Dance, you must contact our office immediately.
  • Class switches can occur at any time if space is available.

Attendance/Make-up Classes/Late Arrival:

  • Please report all absences to the studio by leaving a message at 925-831-0777 or sending an email to nxtstepdance@gmail.com.
  • Makeup classes can be arranged through the office but must be taken within the calendar month paid for and not in the student’s regularly enrolled class.
    • Be aware that it is not always possible for us to offer more than one class a week in any given style or age group/level.
    • If there is another class available and it is not full, we will be happy to arrange a makeup. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Students arriving more than 15 minutes late will be asked to sit and watch rather than participate.
    • Late arrival to class must be discouraged as classes are structured to accommodate warming up the body properly.
    • Coming in late is dangerous to the muscles and disrupts the concentration of the class.

Costumes/Recital:

  • All students will be required to perform in our Annual Spring Recital.
  • Costumes for the Spring Recital will need to be purchased for each class the student is enrolled in.
  • Please see our Financial Policy for dates of costumes charges.

Class Uniforms:

  • All classes require a class uniform that must be purchased separately from the regular class charges.
  • Class uniforms need to be purchased through Next Step Dance Studio online store.

Class Observation:

  • Parents will be invited into classes for our holiday demonstrations in December.
  • Thank you for your understanding.

 AUTOMATIC RE-ENROLLMENT

  • Returning Students do not need to re-register!
  • Students are automatically re-enrolled into the same class for the following season.
  • Returning students will automatically be charged for September tuition plus the annual registration/insurance fee on June 1st each year.
  • Students can add or change a class at any time.
    • Recreational students can add a class through the online Family Portal.    Please read through the Financial Policy to determine tuition charges when you enroll.
    • Company/Performance team students must contact the office to add a class to their schedule.
  • Any student who does not want to take advantage of our automatic re-enrollment plan, must drop the class in writing by sending an email to nxtstepdance@gmail.com
  • Drop requests must be received no later than the 15th of May in order to avoid charges on June 1st. 
  • Please review our Financial Policies for requirements to drop a class. 
  • Please contact our office to drop a class or switch to a different class.  Note that switching to a different class can only occur if there is room in the class.
  • Instructors will make class recommendations in May for the new season so that students may adjust their September schedule.
  • NOTE:  You must receive a confirmation email from The Next Step Dance in order for the drop to become effective.  If you do not receive an email from The Next Step Dance, you must contact our office immediately.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued after June 1st.  The Next Step Office will send email reminders during the month of May.  However, it is the client's responsibility to drop classes by the May 15th deadline.

SUMMER CAMPS/WORKSHOPS

Summer camps/workshops run Monday through Thursday.  Daily camps are not available.  Instructors are subject to change without notice.

Summer Tuition/Registration Fees:

  • There is no registration fee associated with our summer camps or workshops.
  • Tuition is non-refundable.
  • Tuition is not pro-rated nor can a credit be issued for missed camp days.

Summer Drop Policy:

  • Students dropping a camp must let us know prior to the first day of camp.
  • NOTE: You must receive a confirmation email from The Next Step Dance in order for the drop to become effective. If you do not receive an email from The Next Step Dance, you must contact our office immediately.

FINANCIAL POLICIES

The Next Step is paperless!  Payment is accepted via credit card or ACH and can be done through the Family Login.

FALL/WINTER/SPRING CLASSES:

Please understand our policy must be that what you are purchasing is not a class at a time, but a reserved place in that class. 

Tuition - Tuition is automatically withdrawn from the credit card/ACH account on file on the 1st of each month.  Tuition is not refundable nor is there a provision for a credit to be issued.  No adjustments to tuition can be made for the number of classes in a given month or for classes missed due to illness or any personal inconveniences. Accounts must be paid in full or students will not be allowed to participate.

In the event of insufficient funds or closed accounts, account holders will be charged a $25.00 service fee on the 5th of the month. 

  • New/updated credit card information must be provided by the 5th of the month to avoid the $25 fee. It is the responsibility of the client to update their payment information regularly or report fraud immediately.
  • For ACH accounts that fail, the total amount due must be delivered in cash to The Next Step Dance Studio, Inc. by the 15th of that month.

In the event your credit card is declined, a $25 fee will be added to your account.

Registration Fees – Each student must pay an annual registration/insurance fee.  This will be automatically withdrawn with your first month’s payment.

Drop Policy – A student who wishes to drop must do so in writing by contacting our studio office no later than the 15th of the month to prevent an automatic tuition charge for the following month. Requests received by the 15th become effective at the end of the current month.  Requests received after the 15th become effective at the end of the following month.  The next month’s full tuition will be automatically withdrawn from your account and is non-refundable nor can a credit be extended.  Students are welcome to attend class through the drop date.

Costumes/Recital – All students will be required to perform in our Annual Spring Recital.  All costume fees will be automatically withdrawn from your account on December 15th.  For students enrolling after December 15th, costume fees will be automatically charged upon enrollment.  Costume fees are non-refundable.
